That IS a really good thought.

Also the radiator hoses themselves add stress to the end caps along with the 'hard' tranny fluid lines.

I've always recommended cuting about 2" from a section of each tube about 6" from their entry to the tank on the radiator and splicing in a section of hose in place of the cut out section. It's a shock absorber....really neat to see the lines vibrate after this is done....and all that vibrating was, before, transmitted to the tank.
