What to do with a crunched P1800ES? 1800 1973

I have a buddy who owns this car. He found out the hard way why teenagers have the highest insurence rates. His son ran into the back of a pickup at about 30 mph. He had only liability insurance. It missed the bumpers but crunched the headlights, grill, and both "fenders" are pretty bad back to about mid wheel well. Hood is ok, It will need a radiator, and AC condenser most likely. He found a front "clip" from another car for $600, but has been advised it is a tough job to replace. Is this now a parts car? or a project for someone with a lot of time on their hands. The numbers don't seem to add up for a repair, but he is worried he will get nothing out of it as is. Hmmmmmmmmm, what to do?
