Hi guys,

Have an '86 245 with the 4spd+OD tranny and 3.31 rear end. No tach. Could someone please tell me what the max speeds are in each gear? The reason I'm asking is because I've been trying to figure out long it takes my wagon to accelerate from 0-60mph. Shifting 1-2 at 20mph, 2-3 at 40mph, and 3-4 at 60mph at WOT I'm getting numbers in the high 11-second range. I recall a road & track article from the mid-eighties that cited at 0-60mph time of around 10.1 seconds for a normally aspirated 244. Does anyone know how the guys on the track launch the cars? I start out with 1/4 throttle until the car gets rolling and then punch it. She has the original clutch with 165K miles, so I'm not too eager about putting my foot in the gas and dumping the clutch, but if it will improve my time....
