Look in Bentley Manual for me 200 87

Could someone look in a Bentley manual for a 1987 240 with B230F engine. I need to know if there is any information of that system requiring a coil with an Internal Resistor. Also, is there any sort of external resistor wired into the harness that would protect computer controls if I put in an ignition coil that did not have an internal resistor?

Really need some documentation/page numbers on this one. Prefer Bentley manual but any other would also do.. I have looked in Chiltoon and Haynes and they say nothing either way. I need proof.
