I tell you what...I really hate to post a problem about an early car, as it seems nobody is having any troubles with anything 140 or earlier on the entire RWD board...but, what can you do?
Of course, the car has been running flawlessly, and its been an absolute pleasure to have a good wagon with room for 4 and stuff, but I must admit a bit of a problem...and I suppose its my fault.
Until today, the radio in the car has been the original AM radio, which works fine, but I really like FM. In a box in my storage shed, I found a proper period AM/FM radio (built and designed excusively for Volvo...$135 in the accessories catalog). The type with the little chrome slide bar to switch from AM to FM. I bench tested the new radio, and it worked fine, so I installed it. It still works fine, and pulls in stations very clearly, but I can't figure out how to set the damn presets. Of course, usually one would set the station and pull the button, them push it back in. It doesn't work with this one.
Question is: Is there a trick, or is my new vintage radio messed up?
Any insights???
