manual sunroof 200 1982

I have a manual crank sunroof that dips down on the left back corner causing a gap between the sunroof and the car roof. I've had my mechanic tighten it once and it was fine for a couple of days, but then fell in again. Any ideas of how this could be fixed permanently? I'm worried about water seeping in (I live in the San Franisco bay area and the rainy season is starting).
