as i am to understand it, turbo's increase the pressure inside the engine to above atmospheric pressure, and by doing so increases the acceleration of the vehicle. this is not the case with my volvo. once i engage the turbo on my car, the tachometer jumps 1000 revs, and the engine runs a lot louder, and the turbo pressure gauge doesn't pass atmospheric pressure, and there is very little, if any, acceleration from engaging the turbo. i heard a lot of talk about wastegate, and i was figuring it was simply some worn seals. any suggestions?
thanks for any help.
