NHTSA battery cable fire recall 700 89

If you own a 740 non Turbo, you may have had your battery cables replaced or fixed by Volvo under a safety recall by NHTSA. I have had this ocuuer on my car, fire flames smoke, fortunately caught it soon enough to avoid collateral damagfe...the car was off at the time.

Unfortunately although my car appears to have the corect manufacture dat, April 89, its serial number is not part of the recall according to Volvo.

Has anyone had this repair done...?

What at is the repair consist of?

Does anyone know what are the pertinent serial numbers for this recall?

Is there a list of serial numbers anywhere and their corresponding manufacture dates?

I somewhat baffled that my car obvioulsy has the problem, and was manufactured during the period that the NHTSA issued the recalled for, but somehow has a serial number outside the range.

Any experience with the repaior or serial number info welcome......

thanks
