Water pump dying? 200 84

I've got a coolant leak that drips off the bottom front of the engine just below the crank pulley. The heater hoses are new and the main radiator hoses are old but apparently good enough.

That leaves, I suppose, the water pump. However I haven't heard any bearings screeching nor is the car overheating.

Is there a way to diagnose this or should I just go ahead and replace the pump? Anything else that would be handy to replace simultaneously?

Thanks,

Steve Merelman
