Stuck trunk latch 200 91

My trunk latch is stuck on my 91 244. When I push in the latch I can feel it trying to engage/release, but it doesn't finish the job. I have tried putting weight on the trunk while I push the button, but that doesn't help. Anyone out there seen this problem before?
