died,won't start 700 1989

Still not running,but have not had much time to devote to it.Here's the situation:driving along at hiway speed,car dies and will not restart but turns steadily and even teases as if it MIGHT start for a second sometimes.No power is getting to the pump,the relays and fuses have all been changed/checked.The codes were run and came back 111.The latest twist is than when we ran 12volts directly to the fuel pump and turned it over the car started immediately and ran as long as the power was applied...does this point to the computer?Don't happen to have good one laying around to plug in...any help appreciated.
