Hello again,
After discovering the fuel pump/sending unit in my '90 non-turbo 740 Wagon was clocked 30 degrees I was feeling pretty good. That didn't last long. At first there was a shudder when coming slowing down, then there was a "miss" when letting off the accelerator, then it died when I came to a stop. I have browsed the archives for "engine shuts off" and such. Fuse near battery? Fuel pump relay? Where is the relay, what does it look like and how do I get it out? Then, several posts talked about re-flowing the solder joints. Re-flowing of relay joints is a real common fix in old Jaguars. How much does one cost anyway? A relay, not an old Jag. What else might cause the problem. Boy howdy, "the one who must be obeyed" will get P.O.'d if it dies on her. I almost got out and started to push the darn thing, the car that is, when it died at a light because it wouldn't even crank, then I put the shift in neutral and it fired right up, duh.
Thanks for the help,
