Radio replacement - suggestions? 700 1986

Hello all,

I have the standard TD-6141 tape deck/radio in my '86 745 turbo wagon. It is on the fritz and I'm wondering what to replace it with.

I've looked around the department stores, but all of the radios nowdays look like main street in Singapore - so many blinking lights and features that I know I'll crash just trying to change the station. All I want is a nice, old-fasioned round knob to turn, something I can operate without looking at it.

I would also like the ability to play tapes AND CDs. Can I do this for $300 or less? Besides direct replacement with a used td-6141, what are some good possibilities? Thanks in advance for the collective wisdom.
