Fuel pump 1800 1971

I’ve got a fuel pump which appears to be “running” but not pumping fuel downstream. Checked voltage at pump OK. Removed pump from car, hooked it up to battery, and it pushed fuel thru a fuel line. Blown out fuel lines with compressed air. All clear. I don’t understand this situation at all.
Am I missing something? BTW it’s fuel injected. D-jet.
