Hi Guys! I hope y'all are doing well. I haven't been able to do any real work on my '96 960 for a couple years: I had 3-level lower spine surgery in 2019, a big toe fusion in 2020, a 3-level neck fusion in 2021, and a benign but extremely painful knee tumor removed early this year. Now that I've been overhauled it's time to fix the 960 wagon. I have a new a/c system to install, front struts and mounts (the Monroe units are trash after 40,000 miles on smooth roads), brake disks, pads and hoses front and rear, steering rack and tie rods, power steering pump and an inop moonroof. As if that wasn't enough I overheated the engine because I had covered up the ABS light with a piece of tape after the front sensor wire was damaged. DUMB!!!!! It also covered the temp light, so when the oil cooler line blew going 70 I didn't catch it at first, and it blew the head gasket at the #2 cylinder. I bought all these parts in the last two years, so I will fix it. The engine still has 150-170 psi compression stone cold except for #2, so I'm hopeful I didn't mess it up too bad. I should have the head off by tomorrow, so I'll know something by then.
