Just replaced the carpet on the 92 wagon. 30 years of daily driver and kids, it was faded, worn, dirty, stained, etc. Ordered a "replacement" from Factory Interiors, Cutpile - Essex Material - Molded, Color: 1004A Cream, Backing: Poly Backing (Standard). Carpet looks great, not an exact color match but I like it better than the original. The "molded" part is slightly (LOL) exaggerated. It was barely molded, I could kinda see the seat and shifter hump moldings but the molding was not defined enough to really help pinpoint a good reference point for the installation, at least for a first timer like me. It took several hours of careful cuts and measures (not an issue) but I still muffed it up right near the shifter (uggh). I did use the old one for reference, but it was still hard to tell because the new carpet is not the same size as the original. Also the old one is a two piece (new is one piece), and longer, extending all the way to rear seat back (I've read that's typical for the wagon). The new one stops just aft of the front of the rear seat bottom. There was not enough info (molded or otherwise) on key reference measurements for the instrument panel and shifter cut outs which are the first, largest and hardest to get right. After you get past that it's easier. Also replaced the old foam/rubber insulation that was crumbling with a combo of foil faced closed cell and adhesive sound insulation. Smells better, quieter and cleaner, just don't look down near the shifter when you get in. Anybody else taken this project on? It's quite the job! Knee pads and layers of old cardboard on the garage floor helped.
