Taper thread on cylinder head heater outlet?

I'm just dismantling a B230F from a 945. On the cylinder head the heater hose connection is a steel fitting at the rear of the head next to the flame trap. This fitting was very stiff to remove, and on examination it appears to have a taper thread? It is very difficult to screw back into the aluminium head.
Am I correct in thinking that this fitting has a taper thread?
