SEEKING Impact wrench recommendations

Seeking input on purchase of impact wrench.

After a recent 240 rear suspension repairs, adult son and I have decided we have the perfect excuse for a new tool.

I've begun to look at impact wrenches but have little experience with them. I have considered battery powered vs pneumatic. At present, I think we will only use it on cars in the garage, so pneumatic is the low budget option, but I have funds to purchase a good battery-powered impact tool. Like any resource or tool, until you have something you don't know what else it can be used for. I don't want to limit myself to using it strictly for car repair, but I don't feel the need to overbuy. Several questions have come to mind, and I value your opinions/suggestions.

1) aside from keeping the fleet on the road, what are other uses for an impact wrench?
2) pneumatic or battery powered?
3) brands to avoid/consider?
4) used/new?
5) any advice for novice users?
