1992 240 gl sedan m47 transmition. how to disconect backup switch?

There are two blue wires that blow fuse #5 when the car is put into gear. The fuse does not blow when the wires are disconnected but then i have no turn signals. I think the backup switch is blowing it but i don't know where it is and I don't know how to disconnect it.
