Twice in 6 months I've had a weird power loss on second start of the day. This has always resolved itself in a minute or two, but is unnerving.
Situation is : Temps 40-50s ( so nothing crazy )start the car, runs fine, full power on acceleration, all is good. Drive for a literally minute or two, like across a parking lot, then shut it off for a minute or two. Restart the car, runs fine, but sounds a little "weak" somehow. When I go to accelerate away, if I give it much of any throttle, it just shuts down ... then when I back off it idles fine and I can continue along at about 5 miles per hour. after a few times of trying to accelerate it finaly does and works fine. It does not misfire , it just shuts down. Not sure if it would completely stall.
It's not the ECU as this happens with known good ECU.
I've sprayed ether all around vacuum lines, intake manifild etc, and there are no vacuum leaks. Fuel pumps are relatively new.
Oh, the other thing it does occasionally is have a high idle, which if I blip the throttle, it usually drops back to normal, but not always.
Any ideas ???
