Hi all. 1990 740 NA rex/regina:
I'm new to Regina, and to MAP sensors. I'm trying to get this car into better working order, and there is a rough transition from idle to off-idle. It's like a delay when you open the throttle, even though the TPS is adjusted and working. The engine hesitates substantially, and then revs after a split second of the throttle being open, unless it's opened very slowly. I haven't dug into it too deeply, but the tubing for the MAP sensor (mounted on the driver strut tower) was clear vinyl and seemed definitely wrong to me. I have a suspicion that the tubing is very important for this sensor.
What type of tubing is OEM? I've seen mention of 90-degree elbows. I'm imagining some 90-degree rubber elbows and that semi-rigid small-orifice plastic tubing - sort of like what's used on the heater vent.
Does anyone have a photo of theirs if it's the original line?
Thanks!
Can't wait to get back behind the wheel of a brick :)
