metal heater control valve 900 1994

So I will be coming up on preventatively replacing my heater hoses and valve. Currently, I have an all metal valve, and I am wondering about the wisdom of replacing this with a new Genuine Volvo one, apparently of plastic. Any thoughts? Who sources the metal ones? Thanks.
