My 1983 240 GL has not been starting as of late, only cranking, and I have exhausted most of the options I can think of, such as fuel cleaner, pump and pre-pump fuse replacement, spare ignition coil and ICM testing, etc, point being I am now "deep" into the distributor shaft trying to remove the Hall sensor/switch since I hear that can be an issue. The distributor cap, rotor and o-ring were easy enough to remove, but the shutter underneath is giving me a run for my money and I can't figure out why. I checked the Web and my Haynes Manual and both failed to turn up a specific method for getting this thing off. Maybe I am looking in the wrong place, I don't know, but any suggestions would be helpful.
