Howdy all, havent posted in years but I have an itch that needs scratching. A neighbor sold me a 92 940 gle non-turbo with several issues. Money and time have solved most but I have a curious overdrive. It required a new relay and when installed the light on the cluster wasnt the familiar orange arrow up, but a green solid green field with black dots framing the numeral 5 in the middle. This car only has 4 gears so I don’t know what the 5 represents (certainly not 5th gear). And oddly, in my 95 940 and both 240’s the orange up arrow is lit when the overdrive is disengaged, but this light is on when overdrive is engaged (the opposite from what I think we are all used to). The original owners manual didn’t come with the car so I bought an owners manual set of eBay for the 92 940 model. No mention of this oddball light.
Any ideas? Oceanre on Long Island
