Original Volvo 240 Stereo - CR-2170 200 1984

Would anyone happen to know who made the CR-2170 AM/FM stereo and cassette deck that was available in the '83 and '84 model years? I think it was made by Blaupunkt, but not sure.

Also, would anyone have a source for a "known good" CR-2170? They pop up on eBay every now and then, but my experience has been that there is something wrong with almost every single one of them.

I seem to remember "back in the day" that while the CR-2170 sounded good (very good with tape play back in fact), it did not seem to last very long. I had one where the cassette deck became non-functional and the car was only 6 or 7 years old. Others where the tuner took a dump and all you'd get was a high pitched squeal - but the tape deck worked fine in that unit.

I am working on "restoring" a 240 and would like to make it as original as possible.
