1992 3.73 wagon

1. the driveshaft and u joints are all in proper condition
2. with driveshaft removed hand turning the yoke which spline connects to the pinion there is obvious play before the wheels begin to turn.. perhaps 1/16-1/8 of a turn.. no more that that
3. pinion seal is dry and intact
4. fluid is proper level and no untoward sound emanates from the pumpkin or half shafts while driving irrespective of speed

5 what is noticeable but not always is bit of a clunk or blunt engagement when the car begins to move

what are my best options apart from living with it?
