well, I'm learning my lesson about buying on older volvo in the rustbelt. Tried to replace the shift linkage bushings on the AT today, and discovered that the pins at the pivot points are completely corroded in place. The rear one was worse. I'm from CA, so my previous older 240 did not have this type of corrosion.
Any suggestions about what to do? Will I need to completely replace the linkage parts, or can the pin at the pivot point be sawed off somehow?
The other strange thing was that the two bushings that FCP Groton/Euro sent me were not at all the correct size for the AW70 transmission on my car. They were at least 2mm to large in diameter to ever fit inside of the hole. Did the AW70 come with different sized components, or is this just a simple mistake in the parts dept? I didn't see any options when I ordered the parts...
