Thankyou all for this web site. I would not have been able to keep the wagon going if not for all your selfless responses over the years.
I find my 1983 240 wagon no longer capable of running consistently due to excessive blow by into the crankcase as follows:50psi on #2,28psi on #1,20psi on #3 and 15psi on #4.(used 100psi input)
Very rough idle was the glaring symptom that became unmanageable.435,000miles
VIN number YV1AX8855D144674__
Stamped on the block is 499803_06110
The stamp on the pistons are "D"_94/3
Stamped on the Head is 1000398,IMP, Circled numbers are"_13_9_82",other numbers_6215_k25
The only manuals I have are for a 1985 sedan. It shows:
88 = B230F in the 1985 service manual given me by my good friend.
The internet vin deciphers point to a possible B23F ..?
Which engine do I have..?
The engine is not out of the car yet. (some time ago had the head off for new gasket and wrote down the piston info)
Just seeing what pistons are available on line.
Thanks
Tim
