How to clean top of pistons 200 1993

Howdy All,

Quick question. How do I clean the tops of the pistons? 1993 245.

I'm replacing the head gasket and the tops of the pistons have a bit of carbon. Especially #2 which is black and somewhat crusty. The other 3 have white deposits on them.

Pistons 1 and 4 are at the top and 2, 3 are down. Can I clean the pistons which are not at the top without getting stuff stuck in the rings?

What's a good way to get them like new?
