544 Rear Bumper Advice 444-544

I need some help on the rear bumper assembly. The bumper was not on the car when I received it. Questions:
How close should the bumper be from the rear of the car when mounted to the brackets?
How does the overrider bar mount to the inside of the trunk. I have the bracket but the angles are different between the bar and bracket. Does anyone have a picture of how it should look.
