Help with high beam light not staying on! 200 1993

I must hold the signal indicator arm in order for the high beam to stay on..... The light does come on and shines but as soon as I let go it does not stay on itself they way it normally would. One mechanic said get the whole arm it think they called it the stalk..... Another guy said its the high beam relay that is on the drivers side fender wall big silver relay. It did not make sense to me so help! Lynn it's a 1993 240 model
