Hi All,
I believe the rear wheel bearing is going south. I know this happens very rarely. Or maybe the differential? FYI. I have read this.
https://www.brickboard.com/RWD/volvo/1601966/220/240/260/280/rear_wheel_bearings.html
It's making a constant noise and it gets louder as I drive faster.
I took off the drive side rear wheel/brake caliper/rotor and turned the axle hub by hand, it made a noise and spun roughly. Despite the bad news, 4 retaining plate bolts looks healthy and seems doable. I have been driving like this for past 3 weeks.
How much time do I have before the wheel falls off? Can I use this tool to press the new bearing in? Thank you as always.

quick update on my car;
1. Changed the center support bearing last year
2. Differential fluid was changed twice. :) There is no leak/pinion seal is not leaking.
3. Rear brake rotor & pads OK
4. E-brake assembly OK
5. Front brake rotor, pads & wheel bearing are OK.
6. Hit a BIG crater while back.
7. Got hit by a crazy driver last Nov. I parked my Volvo with the engine running/e brake on/snow tires and it was pushed forward about 1 car length.
8. First noise appeared on the coldest day in Brooklyn, NY. That was about 3 weeks ago.
9. The Brooklyn-Queens express roads has been rough and unforgiving.
