re: 87 245 auto - crankshaft seal removal and installation 200 1987

Hi All,

These photos illustrate how I did my front seals installation. For cam/intermediate shaft, I used a small hammer but I made a press tool for the crankshaft seal. I wouldn't have come this far without you guys. :D Thank you as always.

For me, I like to work my way in from either left or right side. Using a flat screw driver, slide it under the seal and pull it. The old seal comes out without a fight. The new seal, you have to give strong pull few times. Please don't ask me why I pulled out new seals. :D

Slide the new seal by hand and check for the lips from rolling.

Using "John Clay from Turbobrick" tool to press in. I made a large ring so that the seal goes in evenly and stops at the metal edge/lip. You will get a flush press every time.

I made a plastic ring using 1/8" thick plexiglass.
