Disassembling 122 hinges

Has anyone ever disassembled their 122 hinges (remove the pins)? What does it take? I have seen them as new parts - a pin and 2 halves of the hinge; but when trying to disassemble one, the pin will not come out - and I dont want to damage it.

Whats the secret?
