1991drive shaft center bearing support 700

The drive shaft center bearing is not making any noise but I find there is too much play in the rubber bearing support. As much as a quarter inch of play when pushed up and down , side to side. Not sure if this amount of play is acceptable .Is it possible to just change the bearing support alone , kinda sliding the old one off and sliding a new one back in place encapsulating the bearing?
