calling all early 245 bboarders 200

Hi All,
I posted recently about my major project of cutting out rust and respraying my 1991 245. Living on a dirt road in VT I have come to NOT like the plastic cladding taped on the bottom of the doors and 'butt cheeks' and mud flaps that fit with this cladding. The rear mud flaps collect ice/salt and grit. The locating holes for the plastic strips on the bottom of the doors have the same problem. I had rust cut from both areas So I have decided to leave this plastic stuff off and spray all the way to the bottom of the car.

Of course I still need mud flaps so I have decided to use the older style flaps. What I need to know is how do these flaps attach at the rear? I can only get a rough sense from photos. I would really love a photo showing the method of attachment. At the very least it would be useful to have a measurement from the bottom of the wheel well to the position of the flap as it mounts to the bottom of the car.

Thanks,

Rod
