My experience with a cheapo brake junction block 200

I've been replacing a lot of brake parts on the girlfriend's 89 244, including the brake junction block, which suffered the typical leak through the switch. After comparing the costs of replacing it with a new OEM unit versus the generic, I figured I'd try the generic at least once to see if I had the same issues that seem to plague them (poor threads where the brake lines attach). The price difference was too significant to ignore (~$55 vs. ~$170). It arrived and the threads looked fine. I installed it and all the lines threaded in and tightened down without an issue. I thought I was home free. When I finally had everything in place, I realized that pumping the pedal created a puddle of brake fluid on the floor under the junction block. I double checked the lines and they were all tight. I had the girlfriend come and press the brake pedal and watched where the leak was, all the lines were fine, but the plugs at the ends were leaking - both of them! They weren't tightened enough from the factory. I cranked them both down (a pain to do with the block on the car), and it looks like no more leaks. So for anyone that goes the route of the non-OEM junction block, be sure to check the plugs on the ends before installing, it should save you a bit of trouble.
