my '90 745 has a frozen L front Girling caliper, vented rotor, no ABS. I have good Bendix calipers salvaged from my scrapped '87 744, vented rotors, no ABS. With its matched pads, the Bendix fits on the hub and rotor on the 745, Bolt holes line up, brake hoses will connect to the "new" caliper.
It all seems good, I haven't swapped over yet.
Just read for an hour lots of good info in FAQ, learned some good tips and fine points. Didn't see anything about interchangeability of Bendix and Girling, or prohibition of same.
Am I missing something? Would I be in for a big, bad surprise if I install the Bendix? If so, could I drive the car cautiously for a few days until parts store gets a Girling for me?
TIA
Steve
