1994 945T with B230FT, California car with E.G.R. After full throttle operation, idle will not drop below 1600 R.P.M.
Per prior advise on this site, The T.P.S. has been replaced and the Idle Control Valve (I.C.V.). The throttle body removed and clean to spotless condition and new gasket installed.
Also replaced Electronic Control Module (E.C.M.).
All the above greatly improved low to mid-range power and performance, but high idle still persists after full throttle operation.
The replacement E.C.M. was a Pick-a-Part piece with exact matching part numbers (Bosch 280000954 - Volvo 6842448), as was the T.P.S. (Bosch 280120325 - Volvo 3517068)
Resting idle actually higher now (about 1600 RPM) with replacement E.C.M. after full throttle use.
Turning off engine and immediately restarting brings car to comfortable resting idle.
The T.P.S. is adjusted properly, throttle body clean, and engine is free of any vacuum leaks.
Question: Did I get a sour E.C.M. or to you all think the T.P.S. is the culprit?
