What's Wrong with my Bougicords on 1993 940 Wagon??? 900

Hi Guys,

In doing a tune-up on my 1993 940 wagon, I got a new set of Bougicord wires from my local dealer. Three of those new wires had pins that were pushed too far back, so they didn't go on the plugs. I put my old wires back on until the replacement set came in.

Got the second set of plug wires, and two of those wires had the same issue. I got one wire on the first time and pulled it back off, just to check the pin in the handle. When I put it back on, I couldn't because the two little pins inside pushed back. The second one that wouldn't go on was like that from the start.

I called the parts guy back at the dealer, and I'm being told that I'm doing something wrong to make this happen. He said that he checked them all on plugs there and they were fine. I'm seeing something different and haven't a clue as to how I could make this happen. I'm using the handles of the wires to attach them, and I'm being gentle about it.

Again, I put the old wires back on, and I have absolutely NO problem getting them on and off. Could I be getting a bad batch of plug wires?

As said, Volvo is saying that I'm messing them up, but it just isn't possible. I should be able to put those wires on a plug and take them off if needed. The guy did say to bring them back, but because they're saying I'm causing this, I don't believe they're going to replace them again.

What's going on, and how should I handle it???

Susan
