I know this is a bit spammy, and for that, I apologize.

The 122 will be fine (though I kinda did it wrong when cutting it and dropped a chunk of tree on a door... that dent will hammer out)

But now, it's floods here in northern Colorado. Here's where the Volvo part comes in. We're a small community of about 30 people. And collectively, about 40 Volvos (Ranging '62 544-'95 850T) Of course, many are non-runners.. including the 850, natch.

None the less, it's a Volvo community, there are about 12 miles of road between us.

Rather, I should say... There *used to be* 12 miles of road between us. The road kinda went away last week, at least significant stretches of it. It leaves us one way out, and that way out is a 9200' path of switchback roads that cannot be maintained in the winter.

Yep, we're bailing. We have to. It's work living here in the winter, even with road maintenance. But, to live in an off grid cabin, with no access to a town or (God forbid) emergency access? For as long as 8 months?

We ain't pansies, but we ain't stupid. We're getting out for the winter.

So... to get to my point.. All you Brickboard folks have been helpful for the last.. damn... nearly 15 years since I and my brother first found this site.

You can help this whole community! It's totally non-Volvo related, but earlier this year, my wife and I wrote a book. A bird book. (in addition to Volvo enthusiasm, we are naturalists, love birds, bugs, plants) A book about the birds mentioned in the Bible. No, it's not a religious book, not at all. (that's why we had to self publish.. regular publisher: "we don't do Christian books", Christian publishers "No, we don't do science books") Totally respectful of the Bible, any applicable faiths, or those without.

Any event, please, take a few minutes to read the story, read about the book, buy a copy if it looks like something you'd be interested in, share the story on your Facebook, Twitter... whatever...

It's a bunch of good folks here that are getting displaced, and we'll be sharing funds (we get about $8/copy) with everybody here. And you get, what we really believe, is a really good book.
