Another ebrake question 900

I have been turning the adjusting nut on my 1996 Volvo 960 wagon clockwise thinking that this would tighten the cable. Is that correct or am I on the wrong side of the clockwise/counterclockwise question?

I ask because I just read about a gentleman with a 850 who said you turn counter clockwise to tighten the cable.
