Perplexed. Working on a 2 cylinder Garden tractor ( kohler KT12 engine). No spark with its original TWO OUTPUT coil. Put on an automotive coil (Single output) to one cylinder and I get spark and mower runs. Conclusion is bad Coil. Get new coil and same thing. No spark from this dual secondary coil. Possibly the New coil is bad but I’m doubting myself. Auto coils have one side of the secondary coil internally connected to the Primary where I assume this Dual secondary coil is isolated from the primary windings with both sides of the secondary windings going to GROUND through each spark plug. IF the new coil isn’t bad, why would an Auto coil work? I used a Volvo coil and one off a ’68 MOPAR, and both work. The correct dual output coil, not work? Failing Condenser? Points looked clean and oil free and they must be functioning the Auto coils work. I’m at a loss.
