For those of us (**ahem**) that have a bit of a bulge around the middle, and I don’t mean the car, and maybe the seat belts seem to be getting shorter, I found this out: IF you have never done this before, because it can only be done once per lifetime of the vehicle even if the vehicle changes owners, once is once per car, NOT per owner of the car.

Take your VIN into a Volvo dealer and request a seat belt extension specifically for your car. The dealer will have to eyeball it to be sure he gets the right end fit seeing as how the metal end clip parts can differ, and he or she will order it for you at no cost. It will add about another 8“-10” to the length of your seat belt.

It unclips easily also for someone who doesn’t need it. NOW one "little" thing, this was several years ago and I cannot guarantee Volvo is still offering this, but a quick phone call to your Volvo dealership will clarify the issue.
