exhaust headers - carb and fuel injected 1800

On the B20 engine there is a locating stud on the fuel injected head for the exhaust manifold, which the carb manifold doesn't have. I'm thinking it may be possible to place a B18 carbed header on a fuel injected head if I drill a hole for the locating stud, or removed the stud altogether. Any other factors that I should be aware of before ordering the header? Price is the reason I'm looking at the B18 header rather than a B20 fuel injected header.
