Once in a while my '87 245 gets a shimmy in the steering wheel. While changing the oil today I wiggled all the front end parts and the pay seems to be in the bushing on the driver's side end of the steering rack. There is a preload adjustment, but I suspect the bushing is worn ( ~250,000 miles). Is there any chance that adjusting the preload will help ? If not, has anyone replaced the bushings ?
