Strut Towers - Cleanup or Replace? 700

Everyone,

I am working on refreshing a '85 740 Turbo as my project this winter and I am working on the suspension. I am planning on doing new shocks, IPD springs, struts, and bushings. In the front, I am also replacing the two control arms due to rust but I am torn on what to do with the front strut towers themselves. There is some surface rust and light pitting on the bottom of the strut towers (spring seats seem fine, which I have read can be a problem). I have posted some pictures of the damage here:

New strut towers from Tasca are quite expensive...$350 per side and the wheel bearings feel like they are in great shape on these...the only problem is the rust. I want to solicit some opinions...is it alright to just clean these up with a wire wheel as best as I can and then spray on some rust prevention? Or should I bite the bullet with better strut towers from the junkyard or even worst case new OEM parts? I live in Oregon so there is a reasonable possibility of finding replacement parts in the junkyard in decent shape rustwise.

Thanks for the advice in advance!
Brian
