I've had some ongoing intermittent start/run issues, mostly showing up on warm restart. I'd drive to work, maybe run an errand during the day, and later after a warm-ish restart and drive a few/5 mins, there'd be a hesitation, skip, quit altogether for a few secs. Tach would stay up.
I have posted about this before, see below link, and chased the power stage mostly, 5x maybe?, with occasional swaps of the rsr/fi relay, and fuel pump relay. This usually but not always seemed to have some effect, but then it'd reappear. It did seem to correlate with warmer weather, and now that it's colder I'm not fully sure of my repair, but thought I'd pass it along.
I saw info maybe in the FAQ actually about failing fpreglator; I checked the vacuum line and sure enough, slight dampness and smell of fuel. So of course I replaced the fpr. All was great!
For a week or so. So I pulled the vacuum line, more dampness. I have a box of used fpr's so I put in another one, a Standard brand that looked new. It leaked at the seam that holds the two sides together. I put in another one, a Bosch, and it leaked to the vacuum port. This is now 4 bad fpr's. I put in another Bosch, and it does not leak, the car does not hesitate, and it seems to run as it should.
The weather is still cold so this is not fully conclusive, but I think it's good. So I chased what I thought was an electrical issue, while it was apparently fuel, with reduced/incorrect fuel pressure, exacerbated by heat cooking the diaphragm so warm restarts were affected.
Makes sense to me anyway :-)
