Thanks to all. Getting the crankshaft position sensor bolt in was a real b---h. I ended up laying on radiator with left elbow next to ac evaporator, as Art described. I was unsuccessful until I jacked up the transmission a tad. This gave me a little bit more room which allowed me to lift the cps a little bit out of the hole and hold the bolt to direct it in to its hole. It seemed to be necessary to not have the cps flush with its surface in order to get the bolt to start threading. Anyway, glad that's done!
