Dear ALL:
I am trying to diagnose a 740 gle with ignition problem. When we got it, It had been parked for about 4 months before we jump started it, and drove it home fine. After a few days it developed a problem, i.e., it cranks but does not start.
So we did all the necessary checks on the ignition system including:
* voltage and resistance on the ignition coil terminals
* voltage and resistance on the distributor connector
* voltage and resistance on the power stage terminals
* hall sensor output while turing the crankshaft by hand (0.34 and 4.9Volts)
All tests check fine according to the EZ117K fault tracing manual. We even swapped the ignition computer from a working car and tried to start, but to no avail, i.e., we still are not getting spark. Fuel side (pump, relay, etc.) is working. Is there something we missed?
Parts changed include: power stage amplifier, fuel pump relay, bellows hose from airbox to manifold, new ignition wire set and distributor cap, flame trap, spark plugs, hall sensor in distributor, battery, muffler parts.
Thanks in advance for your assist.
